Feeling Lost? How to Realign Your Energy & Trust the Journey

Sometimes it feels like life is this wild rollercoaster ride, doesn't it? 🎢 One minute you're coasting along, feeling on top of the world (maybe a little fun adrenaline), and the next thing you know you're in an out of nowhere holy-crap dropping dip, wondering what the heck just happened. (We’ve been talking a lot about this kind of energy in my weekly Instagram/Facebook Energy Updates!)  The ups, downs, twists, and turns can be exhilarating and sometimes a bit overwhelming - I get this, this energy has been so wild to understand and navigate, especially lately. So many of you are chatting with me about this odd energy of feeling so hopeful and excited at what is obviously (and easily!) showing up and starting to unfold in your lives (YEAHH!!🎉)– but at the same time still feeling so lost and out of sorts.  What’s so 🌟incredible about this process🌟 though is how our physical bodies are holding onto AND REMEMBERING this energy!  Our bodies are like sponges – soaking up all the energy, emotions, and experiences that we encounter along the way.

Our energy, emotions, and experiences leave imprints on our bodies, creating a tapestry of memories that truly shape who we are. Think about it – have you ever felt a sudden rush of emotion when you walk into a place, hear a particular song, or catch a whiff of a certain scent? That’s your body remembering, connecting the dots of your past to your present from all the energy you’ve experienced thus far!  It’s like having this energetic/spiritual built-in GPS of experiences guiding you through life’s journey.

But sometimes, that energy can get a bit clogged, especially during times of stress and worry. It’s like having too many tabs open on your computer – things start to slow down, and you might feel stuck or overwhelmed. The good news? We can lean on the Universe and our Guides to help us navigate these times and clear the clutter.

I was just telling a group of students a few weeks ago – think of your Spirit Guides as literally the best travel companions you could ask for. They’re always there – ready to offer guidance, support, and a gentle nudge in the right direction.  And when you’re feeling lost or your energy is off, leaning into their wisdom can be incredibly comforting. It’s like having a team of cosmic cheerleaders rooting for you every step of the way. 📣🌟

Now bare with me for a moment, while we get a little real. 😉 Feeling lost is a natural part of life’s journey - truly it is!   And yes, it most certainly can be unsettling, BUT it also presents an incredible opportunity for growth.  When we feel lost, it's usually because our inner compass is urging us to change direction, to reassess our path. It's during these moments that old emotions might resurface, we start to feel doubtful, and start wondering if we’ve landed back on an old, icky, uncomfortable path once again.  And yes, I’ll say it again - it is unsettling and it can be uncomfortable, it’s actually a gift – yes a gift…keep sticking me with me here! 😉  These emotions and energetic remembrances are like little messages from our past, showing us where we've been and how far we've come – and possibly what we’ve even survived. They offer us a chance to take inventory of our growth and identify the areas where we still need to do some spiritual housekeeping and perhaps give ourselves a little more love.  Don’t fear these old emotions; instead, welcome them as teachers. They’re here to help you understand your journey better and to guide you toward your best self. By acknowledging these feelings, you give yourself the power to heal and grow. It’s a bit like spring cleaning your soul – you sort through the clutter, keep what serves you, and let go of what doesn’t. 🧹💖

So, how do we grow from these experiences and realign our energy when it feels off? Here are four little reminders from Spirit - hoping that you resonate with one and it’s a little message you needed to hear:

  1. Ground Yourself in Nature 🌳 There’s something magical about being in nature. It’s like hitting the reset button for your soul. Take a walk in the park, sit by a river, allow yourself to get rained on, dig in the dirt, or simply stand barefoot on the grass. Let the earth’s energy ground you and clear away any stagnant emotions. Breathe deeply and feel the connection to the world around you. Nature has a way of reminding us that we’re part of something much bigger.

  2. Practice Mindful Movement 🧘‍♀️ Our bodies hold onto stress, and sometimes the best way to release it is through movement. Whether it’s moving into a few yoga poses, busting out into a dance party in your kitchen (which is a regular activity in the Ballard-Smith household), or allowing a few minutes for a gentle stretch – moving your body (mindfully!) can help shift your energy. Pay attention to how your body feels with each movement – giving yourself space to let go of any tension, allows your body to guide you to a place of peace and balance.

  3. Connect with Your Breath 🌬️ Breathing is something we do every day without thinking; but how often do we truly connect with our breath? Taking a few moments to focus on your breath can work wonders for your energy. Super simple, but try this for literally 60 seconds (yes, set a timer on your phone!) and see what happens to your energy: close your eyes, take a deep breath in through your nose, hold it for a few seconds, and then exhale slowly through your mouth. I know, I know – it’s just breathing, but you literally taking that 60 seconds FOR YOU – you’ll be blown away by how simply it can support and rejuvenate your energy.

  4. Seek Guidance from Your Spirit Guides 🌟 Remember, you’re never alone on this journey. Your Spirit guides are always there, ready to help, and ready to love you up. So many people go throughout their lives never connecting in with their Guides – you literally have access to these amazing beings that are JUST YOURS and want nothing more than to support you, help you to thrive, and to be successful. So when you’re ready – take some quiet time and just start to talk – ask your guides for clarity, support, and guidance. Ask them to show you they are around you and supporting you. Trust that their wisdom will come to you, whether it’s through a thought, a feeling, or a sign. Be open to receiving their messages and know that they’re always working for your highest good.

Life’s journey is filled with incredible experiences that shape us into who we are meant to be. By understanding how our bodies remember energy and emotions, we can learn to grow from them.  Feeling lost is not a failure; it’s a sign that you’re growing, evolving, and ready for the next chapter. Life is a constant dance between holding on and letting go. Every time you feel those old emotions bubble up, it’s a signal that there’s still some work to be done. Take a deep breath, acknowledge those feelings, and use them as a compass to guide your spiritual growth. 🌠✨ Embrace the journey, trust in the process, and lean into the support that’s all around you. You’ve got this, and your path will unfold as you take each step forward. Keep believing in yourself and your journey, and remember, you are never truly alone. 💓

And one more little thing I’ll share with you, on a very personal note.  Here are some of the questions that I ask myself daily (sometimes I journal these, sometimes I just discuss with Spirit) – these questions support me as continue to level-up my energy, heal and grow, and to help me make space to allow in all the great things the Universe has in store:

May these reflections and clarity questions bring you insight, help you to feel lighter, and most importantly more loving toward yourself.  It’s a beautiful practice to remind you of your progress and to keep you aligned with your highest self.
